Shopping from China
|
Shopping at online stores can save a lot of money. Prices are usually lower than in brick-and-mortar stores. However, the amount of shipping costs can spoil the pleasure of a good deal. Is it still worth it to buy products?
If you decide to bother looking for an online store with free shipping, you will spend a considerable amount of time at the computer. Sometimes it pays off. Stores that offer pickup at a drop-off or designated pick-up location offer more affordable shipping as opposed to those that do not offer this service.
There are several portals that offer free shipping, which ensures that you receive your goods without having to pay for shipping. These are primarily goods imported from China. On these sites, one can find all kinds of goods, from clothing, jewelry, and pet supplies to electronics. There are some drawbacks, however. If a seller does not have a product in stock, you may have to wait up to two months. Claims and exchanges for products are also somewhat complicated. Also, the quality of the merchandise will probably not match the selling price.
If you are buying directly from China, read reviews and links to unreliable Chinese stores. Buying from China is very common today. It is easy and not much different from shopping in Czech e-shops. Don\’t worry if you don\’t speak a foreign language. You can select and set up English on the site. Then you can read the product descriptions without any problems.
However, when choosing a product, pay attention to the price range. If the price of the item you are purchasing is higher than 22 euros (about US$25), be aware that value-added tax (VAT) will be added to the price of the item. If the selling price exceeds 150 euros, you will be charged CLO in addition to VAT, in which case it is probably not worth the purchase.
