If there is one thing children absolutely want to do, besides eat and sleep, it is to play. This is because children know that if they are allowed to do these things, they will be happy to do so. Some parents may be happiest when their children do nothing but watch TV or make phone calls. But do you think that is appropriate? The truth is, it is not appropriate, and many parents would say so.

It is much better for a child to spend his or her childhood alone, using toys and playing with friends outside. It is never appropriate to put things like TV remotes, tablets, or cell phones in a child\’s hands. Many parents these days do this because they don\’t have time to spend with their children. However, it is much better to put the toy in the child\’s hand. This is because the child will always be able to entertain himself with the toy and you will finally be able to eat, go to the bathroom, etc.

It is understandable that the child will want you to play with him at first, before he understands how everything works, but after a while, he may begin to express his desire to play by himself. Once this stage is reached, there is no need to be sad that the child wants to play alone.

Once your child refuses to let you play with him or her on a regular basis, you will find that he or she will suddenly have time to do exactly what needs to be done, such as cleaning or taking care of himself or herself. You will certainly need to watch the child for a while, but you will no longer have to sit with him or her.

Many children learn to play alone very early on, but you need to teach your child to really play with toys instead of playing with something else. Forget about electronic devices for a while. You will find that they have a much better childhood without electronic devices like cell phones and tablets than with them.
